Solitas is a fire dragon whose den lies in the Eastern mountain ranges. He has signed a contract with Lloyd Frontera, agreeing to incinerate the sludge within the Frontera County's excrete facilities in return for learning to craft jewels under the tutelage of Corgidus.
In the events of Knight of Blood and Iron, Solitas once attacked a group of elves during a fit of rage. He later has his horns cut off during a fight with Javier Asrahan, fleeing the battle and later returning to his den where he passes away alone.
Appearance[]
As a human, Solitas has crimson hair, eyebrows, and eyes. In the Webtoon, his hair is messy and reaches the back of his neck, while it is noticeably smoother and sits on his shoulders in the novel. His body exudes his dragon breath's smoke when in this form. After arriving in the Frontera County, the townsfolk comment that he looks rather shabby, though this may be the result of having recently been defeated in battle.
As a dragon, Solitas has red eyes and outer scales with a yellow underbelly, horns, and wings (white in the novel). He also has sharp teeth and claws as well as a blue tongue. He is 170 meters tall, weighs 6,000 tons, and has a wingspan of 200 meters on each side.
Personality[]
Solitas holds a great amount of pride in being a dragon and thinks of them as having the most strength out of any race. He views humans in particular as inferior and is ashamed of having signed a contract with one, not wishing for anyone to know that he is currently working for their benefit. Despite this, he is capable of setting his pride aside and acknowledging his own shortcomings in order to improve. As a student of Corgidus, he is devoted and hardworking even in the face of strict teaching methods.
Potentially due to his youth, Solitas is rather foolish and immature. He is often quick to act before thinking, choosing to immediately attack intruders to his den without hearing them out and even activating one of his own traps while attempting to run away. As such, he is quite sensitive, cowardly, and poor at controlling his emotions, being prone to both tantrums when hurt and violent outbursts when angry. He has also been seen crying when scared or frustrated as well as when being attacked, or shouted at.
Solitas longs for companionship and laments his lack of desirable traits, being easily duped into signing a contract under the promise of getting married within ten years. He has grown resentful of the dragon king and other elder dragons for enacting the Dragon Commandments, seeing the rules as directly responsible for his lack of spouse and going so far as to wish that the dragons quickly grow old and die because of them.
